Energetic Fat-Burning Yoga
Very intense and dynamic yoga workout that will leave you toned in no time. A dynamic Hatha Vinyasa class using your breath to move you through the sequence. An invigorating practice rooted in Ashtanga principles which will heat the body to burn trapped impurities, strengthen core muscles and increase flexibility. The practice ends with cooling breath techniques to realign the body and mind to become more balanced, leaving you feeling energized & challenged but in a relaxed state of mind.

Detox Flow Yoga Workshop

Detox occurs in many ways, perhaps the most sustainable form is when done from the yin/yang approach: neither too aggressive nor too soft. This workshop works with the chakras to release tension from key areas in the body where we hold onto past toxins. These toxins are both physical and emotional. The first part of the workshop will be an intense, yang practice to sweat, twist and release tension. You will end with some deep yin work, digging into the space just created and restoring the nervous system to neutral. Breathwork and a little meditation will also support the practice. Come ready for transformation!

Hatha/Ashtanga Yoga Fusion

There is no need to confine your practice to a particular style of yoga. This class incorporates the ancient and spiritual traditions of hatha yoga and the strength and stamina building of ashtanga.

At the end of the class there will be a guided relaxation, Yoga Nidra (meaning yogic sleep).The benefits of Yoga Nidra are said to equate to three hours of sleep and induce a deep state of peace and well being.

Dynamic Vinyasa Flow Yoga
A Vinyasa Flow Yoga class that links movement to breathe to help open and tone the body, release tension and calm the mind. A typical class will include a series of energising and strengthening sequences to warm up our bodies, and then some longer-held poses to really open up those tight places. We will also play with inversions and arm balances to challenge and encourage us to see things from a new perspective. Our session concludes with a deep relaxation and some uplifting words to help us take our yoga off our mats and into the world.

‘Power Yoga’ was coined in the States, a more user-friendly term than Pattabhi Jois’ ‘Ashtanga Yoga’. Power Yoga is broadly based on the structure of Jois’ Ashtanga Primary series: a flowing sequence of postures characterized by a rigorous physical workout.

Dynamic Yoga With Liz

Liz teaches in an alignment-based flowing style with a focus on building strength as well as flexibility. She integrates principles from  the various “schools” of yoga she has studied in depth (including Ashtanga, Hatha, Yin and Iyengar) to create a class that everyone finds  accessible, enjoyable and personally meaningful. Within the alchemical mix of Liz's classes there is space for healing, space for creative play, space to get to know your “inner guru” and space to transcend perceived limitations (yes, that can be mean  challenging!)

 Liz passionately believes in the transformational power of regular yoga practice. She aims to ensure that each student leaves class  with  greater freedom of movement, increased vitality and a sense of body-felt joy  as well as a more focused  and calmer mind open to new possibilities.

'Dance like a Warrior’ Yoga Workshop

The workshop will consist of a vigorous asana practice with an emphasis on twists so tapas (heat) eliminate all toxins.  The workshops will close with the ancient breathing exercises and yoga nidra to release any remaining tension. In these 2 hours you will stretch, jump, sweat, reach, breathe, bend  and twist again.  Be prepared to work hard and then ripe the fruits of the practice.

'Oh, Baby it's Cold Outside: fun vinyasa workshop'
Just as the air begins to nip at your fingers and toes, come into the warmth of Egoist Body and have your limbs heated up inch by inch by a fun, uplifting vinyasa practice. Expect a creative sequence that will both challenge and nurture you, leaving you feeling refreshed and invigorated! The aim of this workshop is to feel gooood; not too intense, but certainly not soft, it will navigate between the two to produce a yummy warm feeling, inside and out.

‘Let Those Hips GO’ Workshop

Pre & Post Natal Yoga

The beautiful experience of pregnancy makes a woman aware of the many changes her body is going through on both physical and psychological levels. Yoga allows her to adapt more gracefully to these changes, and to feel a sense of integration and appreciation for her body. Pre-natal yoga helps to bound with the new life and adapt to the changes, whereas post-natal helps your body and mind confidently enter the new journey which motherhood is. Both, pre&post natal yoga helps you to relax, centre within your breath, feel stronger, happier and more grounded.

Egoist Body invites you for Pre&Post Natal classes on Mondays&Wednesday at 6.15pm. The classes will touch on relaxation, breathing exercises, body awareness in terms of healthy pregnancy, safe labour and quick post natal recovery. We will concentrate on the pelvic floor and you will be given a mini massage before your departure home.

"A fun inversion workshop – suitable for both inversion’s lovers and explorers.

We will begin warming up the body with a dynamic flow especially designed to prepare the body for arm balances and inversions – including some beloved core sequences... Then we will use that heat to kick our journey’s perspectives and discover how the world looks like when upside down!

Classes are precise yet dynamic with a focus on gradual progression and layering of each exercise, offering suitable levels for all. These classes incorporate educational elements to enhance client body awareness, understanding and development. Flowing, fluid movements, encouraging a sense of relaxation and enhanced wellbeing. Classes are challenging, energising&invigorating, helping improve your overall fitness and wellbeing.

Top Tip: Use your breath for additional strength through a forced exhalation. Engage your transverse abdominals, your deepest abdominal muscle and postural belt, as it is a foundation for strong controlled exercise. Exercise should not be unconscious, understand what you are trying to achieve and execute each movement with thought and precision.

Uma set up Big Window Acupuncture at Egoist Studios in spring 2011 to be an easy, relaxed space to have treatment in a beautiful setting, at a more affordable price. At Big Window Acupuncture you share a space so the cost for each person is lowered although the treatment is still personal, so you can receive treatment as much as you need to suit your health and lifestyle.

Uma has worked with a wide variety of conditions and has additional training in the specialised techniques of spinal acupuncture and auricular acupuncture. She believes that acupuncture is an excellent tool to help our internal mechanisms readjust and perform optimally. She has a particular interest in the immune system and in investigating how acupuncture can play a supportive role.
